Code of Ethics for Certified Professionals

The ethical commitments taken on by every person certified by FVR under ISO/IEC 17024. Compliance is a condition of the certificate's continued validity.

1Ethical commitment

The certified professional undertakes to act with integrity, objectivity, competence and respect when exercising the knowledge and skills certified by FVR.

2Fundamental principles

  • Integrity — act honestly and uprightly in all professional activities.
  • Objectivity — issue professional judgements based on evidence, free from bias or conflicts of interest.
  • Professional competence — maintain and update the technical knowledge underpinning the certification.
  • Confidentiality — protect confidential information obtained in professional practice.
  • Legal compliance — respect the applicable legislation in each jurisdiction.

3Correct use of the certificate

  • Represent only the actual scope and level of the certification obtained.
  • Do not use the certification to imply accreditations, levels or competencies that were not granted.
  • Comply with FVR's certification mark policy.

4Consequences of non-compliance

Documented non-compliance with this code may result in suspension or revocation of the certificate, in line with the certificate term policy.
