Certification Mark Use

Rules for the correct use of the FVR™ logo and seal by certified individuals and organizations. Using the mark is a right of the current holder and a responsibility: it protects trust in the certification.

1Purpose

The FVR™ certification mark (logo and seal) communicates that an individual or organization holds a valid FVR™ certification. Its use is controlled in order to protect public trust and to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 17021-1.

This document defines who may use the mark, how, and the conditions under which its use must stop.

2Who may use the mark

Only holders with a valid certificate. In personnel certification (17024), validity is conditional on maintaining an active subscription; for organizations (17021-1), on the validity period of the certification cycle and within the certified scope. Anyone can check validity in the public verifier.

3Permitted uses

People (ISO/IEC 17024):

  • CVs and professional profiles (LinkedIn, job boards).
  • Email signature and personal stationery.
  • Reference to the standard, level and certificate reference number.

Organizations (ISO/IEC 17021-1):

  • Website, corporate stationery and marketing material, within the certified scope.
  • Reference to the certified standard and the reference number, stating the scope.

4Prohibited uses

  1. Using the mark outside the certified scope or standard.
  2. Organizations: applying the mark to the product, its packaging, or in any way that suggests product conformity. Management system certification does not certify products.
  3. Pairing the mark with an accreditation body's symbols, or suggesting an accreditation FVR™ does not yet hold (see section 5).
  4. Altering, distorting, recolouring or recomposing the logo.
  5. Continuing to use the mark after a suspension, revocation or expiry of the certificate.
  6. Using the mark in a misleading way, or in a way that damages FVR™'s reputation.

5Accreditation in process

FVR™ operates in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 17021-1, and its formal accreditation is in process. In the meantime, the mark must not be paired with accreditation body symbols or presented as accredited. Once accreditation is obtained, FVR™ will communicate the rules for incorporating the corresponding seal.

6Ceasing use

When a certificate is suspended, revoked or expires — or, for people, when the subscription lapses — the holder must immediately cease using the mark and remove it from all material (digital and printed). The right of use ends with the certificate's validity.
